About Us
Build Digital’s mission is to unite all construction and built environment stakeholders to drive integrated, interoperable digital data adoption across the industry to innovatively improve efficiency, productivity, and international competitiveness on a sustainable basis in Ireland. Build Digital is enabling digital construction adoption and implementation in Ireland and supporting the industry to achieve the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) BIM requirements (Irish BIM mandate).
Who We Are
Build Digital was formally launched in 2022 and is led by Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin). Partners include Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Munster Technological University (MTU), University College Dublin (UCD), and South East Technological University (SETU).
Build Digital has unmatched expertise, regional reach, and complementary skills to deliver increased digital adoption across the entire Irish construction and built environment sector.
In 2024, Build Digital commenced a strategic collaboration with the Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA). GDA leads on project operations, including communications for Build Digital.
The Build Digital Goals
Efficiency: Streamline processes and reduce waste through digital solutions.
Productivity: Improve project outcomes with better workflows and data management.
Sustainability: Identify and promote environmentally friendly practices using data.
Competitiveness: Equip the Irish construction sector to compete more effectively on the international stage.
Build Digital aims to ensure that world-class digital practices, which already exist in certain elements of the construction sector, are adopted throughout the industry and supply chain. This will create a more sustainable and innovative sector from top to bottom and vice versa. Our project will achieve this goal by providing guidance and leadership on the digital tools, standards, approaches, and education and training required by the sector.
Build Digital Hubs
In order to adapt to Ireland’s evolving digital and regulatory landscapes and further support stakeholders, Build Digital has created three strategic hubs:
Digi Adopt: Digital Adoption & Change Management
The Digital Adoption Hub (Digi Adopt) focuses on digital readiness. It helps organisations understand the business case, identify gaps in skills or tools, and develop tailored strategies for digital adoption. Digi Adopt does not assume prior experience—it meets each organisation where they are and builds from there.
Digi Implement: Digital Implementation & Transformation
Once organisations are ready to move beyond planning, the Digital Implementation Hub (Digi Implement) supports them in bringing their strategies to life. This hub is focused on delivery—embedding the systems, standards, and workflows that define best-practice digital construction.
Digi Innovate: Digital Innovation & Competitiveness
The Digital Innovation Hub (Digi Innovate) is dedicated to advancing digital innovation and enhancing Ireland’s global competitiveness. Digi Innovate creates space for experimentation, exploration, and collaborative innovation.
